The club celebrated two club records at Sunday's Altra Yorkshire Marathon Festival in York. Richard Heppenstall produced an outstanding run in the Yorkshire 10 Mile, finishing 32nd overall and third in the men's over50 category in 59-41. He cut one minute and sixteen seconds from the previous club over50 record of 60-57, set by Shaun Dimelow, and ran a superb negative split, covering the first five miles in 30-04 and the second five in 29-37. At the Altra Yorkshire Marathon, Alan Nutton finished 181st overall and 21st in the men's over45 category in a chip time of 2-54-18, bettering Matthew Robinson's previous club over45 record of 2-55-56 by one minute and thirty-eight seconds. Emily Duckett also completed the marathon in 3-41-34 for 1,923rd place. In the ten-mile race, Alex Harris impressed with a best ten-mile performance of 1-02-58 for 61st, while Rory O'Sullivan finished in 1-17-49 and Gemma Nutton overcame stomach and back discomfort to record 1-20-08.

Abroad, Luke McGuinness represented Penistone at the TCS Amsterdam Marathon, completing the race in a chip time of 4-37-58. The third round of the club's Philip Senior Winter Handicap attracted twenty runners to the testing 4.5-mile route around Penistone. On the fells, Penistone entered two teams in the British Fell and Hill Relay Championships hosted by Todmorden Harriers. Jill Scrivens opened in 1-10-38 before Josie Smith and Hannah Shaw produced a particularly strong second leg, clocking 1-51-26. Their run was the 32nd fastest on that leg in the open women's category and lifted the team from 47th to 38th. Harriet Drouin and Jemma Williams then tackled the navigation leg in 2-24-59, with Rebecca Timms completing the final stage in 1-08-54.
