George above Parr
Penistone’s George Parr sealed first place at the latest Trunce race at Oxspring. He fought off some close competition to win via a sprint finish in a time of 27-15. There were also age category wins for Lesley Parker (first over40 lady) and Barbara Haigh (first over70 lady). Jon Hallam grabbed second place in the men’s over40 age category. Finn Pepper was 7th in the Junior Trunce.
Several Penistone runners took part in the Up the Nab fell race near Glossop and enjoyed some success. George Parr was 3rd overall, James Fryers 5th, and Penistone also picked up first team prize. The team consisted of George, James and Steve Storey. Helen Wright was 4th lady.
On the parkrun scene there was first place for Alex Melhuish at Friedrichsau in Germany. Andrew Heppenstall was second at the Haverfordwest parkrun.
