The Penistone Boundary Race is a 15 mile race for individuals or teams of three. It was held from 2012 to 2014 in conjunction with an annual boundary walk.
Due to the disappointing amount of support for the race in the first three years, the 2015 race was cancelled and it has not been run formally since then.
In 2020 and 2021, when pandemic restrictions allowed, it was run as an informal event for club members.
The route starts and finishes at Cubley Hall, Mortimer Road, Penistone, S36 9DF (grid ref 245021) and follows the Penistone parish boundary in a clockwise direction. Relay changeovers are at Royd Moor (215042) and Cooper Lane (265056) for those competing as a team of three.
